Ratings & Reviews of Cvs/pharmacy
  1. Longs always got RXs right; CVS always gets RXs wrong.
For thirty years I got my prescriptions from Longs Drugs. They always got it right. Eventually they offered the convenience of a machine from which you could get your prescriptions that you could access 24/7 and not have to wait in line. After the CVS takeover, the machine was removed, so now you always have to stand in line. Here are a few more unhappy incidents: CVS maintains the same automated telephone call-in service that Longs did. At least it sounds the same when you place your order. But when I got to the pharmacy the next day, they could find no record of my call or the prescription I had ordered. I took a new prescription to the window and the attendant told me my insurance card had expired and I needed to contact my carrier (Anthem Blue Cross) for a new one. When I called Anthem, they told me my old card was still active, but sent me a new one anyway. The new one worked the next time, even though it was the same as the old one. Whoever filled the renewal of a prescription which I take regularly failed to process it correctly and I had to pay nearly $80 over the regular price because she said the insurance did not cover it. Another phone call to Anthem confirmed my coverage and I had to make a second trip back to CVS with all the paperwork in order to get the overcharge refunded. As for the rest of the store, brand name products which I have used for many years have all been replaced by CVS brand products, so I now go to Target to get the brands I prefer. Longs was a great store. I'm sure I'm not the only one who misses them. (tillmanycvs, 11/18/2009)
