I've been going to this place for years, and i have found them to be great. by Beth S. at InsiderPages
I am a long time customer of Putnam Volvo. I have bought many cars from Sam and Relly on the showroom and they always treat me completely professionally. With any car purchase there is a bit of back and forth on the price which I know is normal, but they do it in a way that I find is fair to both of us. I had to come back with a problem on a used car I bought for them and they took care of the problem while I waited and didn't try to jack me for the cost. What else can you ask for from a car lot.

Best car purchasing experience I have ever had by Anonymous A. at InsiderPages
After reading some of these reviews, I really question wether some of these reviewers worked with the same Putnam Mazda Volvo that I have been doing business with for quite some time now. Ever since I bought my first Volvo from here in '92, I was so happy with the way I was treated and respected by the sales staff that I've been drawn back ever since.
As we all know, cars have their problems, that's just the nature of the beast. What really shows how much an auto dealer cares for it's customers is how they handle the inevitable car problem from a recent customer, of which Putnam Mazda Volvo has handled far better than any dealer I have come across. I have bought 5 cars from this dealer and have recommended many of my friends to do the same and do not have one complaint to report. It's been a pleasure doing business with these kind, respectful and incredibly knowledgeable salespeople. I recommend any and all people considering to buy a car to go here.
Also, my most recent purchase from here was a used Volvo s40 for my teenage daughter. Their used car selection is unparalleled! We spent most of the afternoon looking at what seemed to be an endless supply of quality used cars, something I didn't think was possible these days.
BUYERS REJOICE!!! GREAT DEALER!!!

Unfair Reviews for this dealership by CARTIER L. at InsiderPages
After reading some of the reviews others are leaving for this dealerships. I feel that they have an over expectation from dealership service and sales department to a point that they probably can not be satisfied even if they get their cars for free and service and reapirs for free. They probably complaint about the color of the free car they are getting!!
My wife got her Miata there in 1991 and has been using them since and have not had any problems with them. For those that have a very very high and unreasonable expectation - please write to your Government and get that change first.

Putnam Mazda
Putnam Mazda service and Putnam Mazda sales are (2) separate entities. Before they have your money they are very nice and roll around at your feet like a puppy dog. After you have a problem and take it to the service department the trouble begins. They either park it somewhere so that the car collects dust ... as nothing is done to fix the problem. Or charge an arm and a leg for the parts and work which may not be done right on the first, second or third attempt ... they never follow up on your problem and make sure it get repaired ... seems AFTER the initial sale the Putnam Mazda
team treats you like a part of old shoes and puts your problem in the trash ... recommendation: try to buy another car elsewhere away from Putnam ...far away ...

Fast buck Salespeople.. slow action Service by Wayne B. at InsiderPages
These guys are the worst. Purchased a Tribute from them and paid too much based on salesman's total misrepresentation. When I found out the lie, I called them on it and was given two free oil changes in lieu of the few thousand dollars I should have been rebated. All this after weeks of trying to contact Joe Putnam.. to no avail. No wonder they wanted to follow me home so I would write a check that day. Fortunately, the car was a good choice. It only had one problem. A few spots on the roof where the factory paint had bubbled and broken to leave holes down to the metal. On three different services I mentioned the paint problem to the Service Manager. On each occasion he told me he would talk to the factory rep and give me a call..never happened. In my view this whole organization is full of scam artists. I have warned all my friends, and am happy to share with the public. AVOID Putnam car dealerships!

Could they be any worse??? by Jason H. at InsiderPages
Horrible business practice. You think the Bush administration is bad? Wait until you have to deal with Putnam Mazda...
These guys are expert profiteers. Dick Chaney and Halliburton would be proud!!!!
2004-2006 Mazda 3s have a common problem with the purge solenoid valve sticking open. This causes stalling while idling, rough idling, check engine lights and other problems. This is such a common problem, that its more likely that you will have to replace this part than not. No joke. My car is an '05 and already my PSV has already gone dead. This is where things get fun. The part is on NATIONAL BACKORDER. Meaning that so many people are replacing it that they cannot keep up with demand. And just in case you are wondering, yes this is a dealer only part, no after market available.
Today I called every single dealership in the Bay Area, Putnam was the only one to claim that they have it in stock. Guess what? They wanted $250 for the part even tho MSRP is $129.65... I talked to 2 people at the shop asking why they would charge almost double MSRP for a part they knew to be defective? Oh cuz we are suckers and we have to buy it right?? They just saw that there was a TSB out about this part being bad and said oh sweet, we got a TSB on a part that is back ordered at all other dealerships, lets jack up the price!! Oh then I find out that the 3 that they have are actually old parts that Mazda has stated are defective. So not only are they trying to charge me TWICE the MSRP but they are trying to sell me a defective part which will break soon and I can come back!
This place is a joke. I will never buy another Mazda again and will definitely not go to Putnam when I buy my next Honda.
BUYER BEWARE.

Too Pushy by Paul C. at InsiderPages
When I went to look at buying my RX-8, I went here first; I've had good experiences with Putnam Pontiac, and I'd hoped it would carry over. It didn't. I wanted to test drive an automatic (I didn't really know how to drive stick at the time), but they didn't have any. The salesman immediately pulled out his four square chart and started asking me questions for a purchase order. I told him I wasn't interested in working that out until I test drove a car, but he was fairly persistent and started scribbling down numbers, at which point I just got up and left. The salesman was of no help whatsoever.
I do take my car here for service, as it's much closer to where I live than other Mazda dealers, and their service has been fairly good, although they do take quite a while to get work done and aren't open on weekends. Even an oil change service will take you an hour or two, which doesn't make sense to me. However, they are fairly good about providing a rental car for free, and their service staff has always been cheerful and helpful.
PROS: Friendly service department, free rentals.
CONS: Overly aggressive sales, limited service hours.

Best car buying experience by Pooja M. at InsiderPages
We commuted quite a bit of distance to get our mazda minivan from this place,. They offered us most competent rates and provided most efficient service. I would particularly recomment two dealers at this dealership - Ali and Mori. They helped in negotiating the car rates an were on our side to help us make a good deal. They did what they promised and didn't try to rob us of our money like most other dealers.

questionable mechanics and evil salesmen by Michael C. at InsiderPages
my parents bought their van from Putnam Mazda, they had bumper to bumper warranty. the stereo broke, they pulled the van back to the dealer for fix, the dealer said stereo was not included in the warranty so they charged my parents $200. a few weeks later, the stereo broke again, the stereo light does not turn on when you turn on the headlights, so you cannot see time/radio station information.
when buying the car, we had a used volvo, it was in good shape, the dealer offered $300 for it. unbelievable....do not go there any buy car.
PROS:
CONS: worst of all car salesmen
